#BudLitter, with Single-Celled Organisms
From the long-running #BudLitter series.
#BudLitter, with Single-Celled Organisms, Northport, Alabama, September 10, 2025.
I got to pixel-peeping this image. Enlarged it to 100% (below). Suddenly, I was struck by a realization: this aggregate looks like a bunch of single-celled (aka, unicellular) organisms!
See what I mean?
Aminus3 Prompt: Street
When I saw that Aminus3 Photography’s photo prompt for this week was “street,” I got very excited. At this point, I have probably shot dozens, if not hundreds, of pictures of BudLight cans on streets—in various states of compression.
However, I didn’t want to just pull out a stale #BudLitter photo from my copious collection. I decided to shoot a fresh bit of #BudLitter for the prompt. I did not have to look far before I located a Bud Light can to satisfy the prompt.
Why #BudLitter?
I like to walk and bike around my town. Roadside litter frequently annoys me. Circa 2018, I noticed that a high percentage of that litter was beer cans. And, without exaggeration, roughly 80% of the littered beer cans were/are Bud Light-brand.
Why is Bud Light so commonly tossed by the side of the road? I can only speculate.
As a photographer, I decided to cast a light (pun intended) on this urban detritus by shooting Bud Light cans and attempting to make interesting compositions out of them. After I posted a few of these to social media, a friend suggested I hash-tag them #BudLitter. As of this writing, I’ve hash-tagged dozens of #BudLitter photos.
Sadly, there is an endless supply of them in my neighborhood.

Cool project! I love its originality.
Love the project...and the single celled organisms even more!
