Freshman Shenanigans, 1973
Black-and-White Wednesday: In anticipation of my 50th college reunion next week.
Freshman Shenanigans, 1973; Brown University, Providence, RI, May 1973.
It’s difficult for me to believe that my fiftieth college reunion is coming up next week. In anticipation of it, I’ve been sorting through my photographs from those college daze and I came across this oh-so-typical one. I assembled all the inhabitants of Goddard House for this group photo in my dorm room. Of course, shenanigans ensued.
(Note: These were the non-fraternity civilians of Goddard, which was also a frat house. At the time, frats were having trouble filling their houses and so unlucky freshmen were housed there as well. In the case of Goddard, freshmen lived on the third floor and the frat [I forget which one] was in the lower floors. During initiation ceremonies we heard screams coming from the frat floors, but they stationed frat members in the stairwell and blocked us from coming down.)
