The Mysterious Underground World of Utility Conduits
A construction site gives us a glimpse into the nether world beneath our city streets.
The Mysterious Underground World of Utility Conduits, Main Avenue construction site, Northport, Ala., Apr 19, 2026 at 4:15:55 PM.
A few blocks north on Main Avenue from the crape myrtle stump of a previous post is this collection of utility conduit sealed with duct tape to keep out the Alabama red clay. Why so many pipes? What will they contain? Where will they go? How deep will they lie?
A construction site offers a glimpse into this hidden, inky dark, nether world, but mysteries remain.

Clearly a lot of companies which don’t get along! It would be way to easy to share, but then the photograph would have been a lot less interesting 😊
I took one look and KNEW it was the HB! Excellent detail!
